Temp1 = 60
Temp2 = 75
Temp2 - Temp1 = 15

Difference = (Temp2 - Temp1) / Temp1
Difference = 15 / 60 = 1 / 4 = 0.25
Percentage difference = difference * 100% = 0.25 * 100% = 25%

The parabola y = x² - 4 opens: <br> A.) up <br> B.) down<br> C.) right<br> D.) left
fomenos

Answer:

Up

Step-by-step explanation:

Here the easy rules to remember the orientation of the parabolas are

a) If x is squared it opens up or down. And its coefficient of {x^{2}[tex] is negative it opens down.b) If y is squared it opens side ways right or left. It its coefficient of [tex]y^{2}

Hence in our equation of parabola

y = x^ 2-4

x is squared and its coefficient is positive , hence it opens up towards positive y axis.

Whitepunk [10]

Using a differential equation, it is found that the temperature dropped 72 degrees Celsius between sundown and 3 hours after sundown.

<h3>What is the differential equation that describes the temperature in t hours after sundown?</h3>

The rate at which the temperature is dropping is 6t + 5t^2 degrees Celsius per hour t hours after sundown, hence the <em>differential equation</em> is:

\frac{dT}{dt} = 6t + 5t^2

Applying <em>separation of variables</em>, we find the solution as follows:

\frac{dT}{dt} = 6t + 5t^2

dT = (6t + 5t^2) dt

\int dT = \int (6t + 5t^2) dt

T(t) = \frac{5t^3}{3} + 3t^2 + T(0)

In which T(0) is the temperature at sundown.

In 3 hours, the change will be of:

C = T(3) - T(0) = \frac{5t^3}{3} + 3t^2|_{t = 3}

Hence:

\frac{5(3)^3}{3} + 3(3)^2 = 45 + 27 = 72

The temperature dropped 72 degrees Celsius between sundown and 3 hours after sundown.

Masja [62]

Answer:

The second one; x²+7x+12

Step-by-step explanation:

So, since the beginning lengths of the square is x and x, the area of the square is x².

But then, you add 3 to one length, so that side is now (x+3), and then you add 4 to the width, so that is now (x+4).

Finally, you would multiply them together to get the equation you would use to find the new area.

For this, you would cross-multiply everything together; the x in the length by the x in the width, the x in the length by the 4 in the width, the 3 in the length by the x in the width, and then the 3 in the length by the 4 in the width. Now, all you have to do is add all of these together to get your answer.

Here's the work:

(x+3)(x+4)\\x^{2}+3x+4x+12\\x^{2}+7x+12
