Having tried almost every new artistic trend in New York, Jasper Jones kept looking for new ideas and forms of expressiveness. In the early 1950s, he went to Philadelphia to familiarize himself with Marcel Duchamp's work. The idea of the readymade - the use of ready objects, often unrelated to art, such as works of art or parts of them - interested Jones and became another component of the artist's own artistic language.
