What happened during the election of 1824?
Masteriza [31]

Answer:

Even though Andrew Jackson won the most electoral and popular votes, he didn't win by enough to beat any of the other three candidates. This meant that the final vote was up to the House of Representatives. Henry Clay, with the least amount of votes, knew that neither himself or Crawford would win and he hated Andrew Jackson, so he turned his votes over to John Adams which gave Adams the most votes and made Adams win.

In 1828, Jackson beat his other candidates and won the presidency.

Why did Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales gain their own legislatures?
mash [69]
Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales gained their own legislatures because c) The British Parliament had grown too large to be efficient. This was also due to the fact that these three places are countries but part of Great Britain (Scotland and Wales) and the United Kingdom (all three countries) and it would only be fair for them to have some say for their own countries specific issues. This process is called devolution.
