Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a procedure which is used in emergency especially in cases of stroke or cardiac arrest. It is an emergency procedure which combines the chest compression along with artificial ventilation. This is done to preserve the function of the brain. Spontaneous efforts can also be performed along with CPR to restore the spontaneous circulation of blood and breathing in a person who is subjected to cardiac arrest.
