The correct option is B

Herbert Clark Hoover He was a convinced Republican militant, who previously served as Secretary of Commerce from 1921 to 1928, during much of Calvin Coolidge's presidency, in which he introduced topics on efficiency in the business community and government support for standardization, efficiency and international trade. He presented himself as a candidate for the US presidential election of 1928, in which he won the Democratic candidate Al Smith with 58.21% of the vote. During his presidential term, his domestic policies were heavily overshadowed by the onset of the Great Depression and he reaped great unpopularity. Hoover ran for a second job in the 1932 US presidential election, but was overwhelmingly defeated by Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt. After his defeat, Hoover became a fervent ultraconservative and was absolutely contrary to the progressive policies of Roosevelt's New Deal.

Why did copernicus hesitate to consider alternatives to the ptolemaic universe?
Sladkaya [172]
Copernicus was going up against everything and everyone, namely the Church. Copernicus would put forth the idea the heliocentric universe. This meant that the sun was at the center and not the earth. This could be taken to mean (and was by many) that God had not placed Man at the Center of the Universe. The idea that there was more that could occupy God than our existence and we were not the most important creature or thing was mind blowing.

what does bethel mean when he writes, " if the creoles had one eye on their masters, they kept the other on their servants"?
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

The answer is below

Explanation:

According to Leslie Bethell in his work "Why did the Creoles lead the revolutions in Latin America?" The statement "if the creoles had one eye on their masters, they kept the other on their servants, " implies that the Creoles fully understand the delicate situation of the colonies in which every group was constantly looking for power to override one another.

The masters are the penisulares: the Spanish settlers, while the servants are the mestizos, mulattos, Africans, and other Indian groups. The Creoles wanted to gain and retain political power in the colonies.
