Place a question mark or exclamation point within closing quotation marks if the punctuation applies to the quotation itself. Place the punctuation outside the closing quotation marks if the punctuation applies to the whole sentence.

For MLA:

He said, "This is the quotation" (page number with period)

Ex: "She is using brainly" (40).

There is no period or comma after the sentence ends, only after the page number and parenthesis. Also, it depends on what you are using. If it is a website, you use an author's name and the page number, if it's a book, you use the page number. If it's an article, you'd use the author's name, etc.

Hope this helps you!

Is gatsby in the same class as Wilson? if not is he closer to Wilson’s class, or to tom? Where does Meyer Wolfsheim stand in all
mamaluj [8]
In terms of social division, Gatsby and Wilson are from the same class, the working-class. However, if it is on the terms of personality and identity, Gatsby can be considered to be more in the same class as Tom. Gatsby and Tom are men who are driven and would do anything to get what they want. Meyer Wolfsheim's was a character in the novel whose sole purpose was to shed light on Gatsby's dubious past and Nick's biased nature.

Which sentence best explains the historical context for the book Silent Spring?
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

C. It was written to prove that all pesticides were potentially harmful to the environment and  should be banned from widespread use.

Explanation:

'Silent Spring' is an environmental book written by Rachel Carson. The book is to educate the readers about the adverse effects of DTD powder and pesticides on crops and agriculture. Through the medium of this book, carson sternly abominates the chemical industry that blinded it's customers eyes towards the ill-effect of using pesticides and chemicals on crops.

So, the statement that explains the historical context for the book is that it was written to prove that chemicals and pesticides are harmful to environment and should be banned world wide.

Therefore, option C is correct.
