It is similar to the ed for regular verbs in English To conjugate a verb into a past participle form, we have to delete the infinitve ending ar, er and ir and put ado for those verbs that end in ar, and ido for those ones that end in er and ir.

cruzar cruzado (crossed)

decir dicho (said) this in an exception of that rule because it is an irregular verb.

comenzar comenzado (started)

descubrir descubierto (discovered)  this in an exception of that rule because it is an irregular verb.

correr corrido (run)
