Wood engraving is an alleviation printing process known for its little scale and almost negligible difference work. An etching is made by cutting a picture into the finished end-grain of a hardwood piece. To take a print from the piece, ink is moved equally on the surface of the square, the paper is put on top, and weight is connected with a press, or by rubbing by hand with a burnisher.
