Select the correct answer.
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

B.  Because his beloved's beauty is as transient as the morning dew.

Explanation:

In the given lines from <em>To His Coy Misstress,</em> the speaker compares his beloved's<em> youthful hue</em> (youthful skin) to <em>morning dew.</em>

Dew is water that we can see in the form of droplets on plants in the morning.  It doesn't last long - it is usually gone by mid-morning, disappearing after the sun rises. This is why dew is often used as a symbol for youth and how transient it is. Human life is often compared to one day, with the morning symbolizing youth and the evening symbolizing old age. Youth is as impermanent as dew, and this is what the speaker wants to tell us about his beloved.

Common English mistakes<br>Qhamisa is my cousin sister who is the most beautiful of them all
timama [110]

Answer:

- Qhamisa is my cousin's sister who is the most beautiful of them all.

Explanation:

The given sentence contains a grammatical error in the usage of 'cousin sister.' As per the context of the sentence, <u>the correct form to be employed would be 'cousin's sister' as it is followed by an idea that establishes a comparison. In order to establish the superlative degree, the context of the cousin's must be plural</u> to denote that they are more than two(reflected through usage of all and superlative degree). Thus, the correct sentence would read as:

"Qhamisa is my cousin's sister who is the most beautiful of them all."

how does this excerpt provide evidence of the theme real champions care about others feelings. it shows that squeaky actually le
makkiz [27]

Answer:

It shows that Squeaky wants Raymond to also experience success.

Explanation:

According to a different source, the passage that should be included in this question is:

<em>"And I’m smiling to beat the band cause if I’ve lost this race, or if me and Gretchen tied, or even if I’ve won, I can always retire as a runner and begin a whole new career as a coach with Raymond as my champion. After all, with a little more study I can beat Cynthia and her phony self at the spelling bee. And if I bugged my mother, I could get piano lessons and become a star. And I have a big rep as the baddest thing around. And I’ve got a roomful of ribbons and medals and awards. But what has Raymond got to call his own?"</em>

In these lines, we learn that Squeaky does not deeply care about winning. Although she was absolutely determined to win before, taking a look at her brother allows her to reevaluate her skills and her running abilities. She realizes that she has a lot to be grateful for, and that winning is not the only thing that matters. Instead, she also cares about her brother Raymond and his success. This shows that she is a real champion, as she also cares about the feelings and experiences of other people.

How does Ponyboy’s point of view influence how events in this chapter are described? What can you determine about Ponyboy’s char
elena55 [62]

The point of view presented by Ponyboy allows the reader to understand the events in a more personal and intimate way, as Ponyboy shows how he perceives things and how he feels about them.

Although you haven't shown it, we can see that this question is from the book "The Outsiders." Unfortunately, you didn't show the chapter to which this question refers, which makes it difficult for me to answer it specifically, but I will try to help you in the best possible way.

As we read these books, we can see that:

  • The narrator of the book is Ponyboy, who is also the protagonist of the story.
  • Ponyboy lives with his older brothers.
  • They live with little economic resources and all are involved with street gangs.
  • There is a lot of rivalry between street gangs, which creates a lot of violence and danger for the members.
  • Ponyboy witnesses these dangers many times, as he is part of the greaser gang, which is the enemy of the socs.

When we look at the narration of these conflicts between the gangs, we can see that Ponyboy does not feel represented by either side of the conflict, for this reason, he narrates the events in a more intimate way, reinforcing the sense of displacement he feels.

While Ponyboy doesn't feel like he belongs to any of these gangs, his brothers are very loyal to the greaser gang. In that case, if they narrated the conflicts, they would present a narrative with a strong bias towards how the greasers acted.
