Human sex cells, or gametes, are produced early in the developing embryo. ... They initially develop only body (somatic) cells, each with a full complement of chromosomes. When the time comes to mate, they produce their sex cells, or gametes, as needed by forming them out of stem cells from adult tissue.

1.what are three factors that affect the rate of chemical reactions?
Lunna [17]

Explanation:

The factors that affects the rate of chemical reactions are;

  1. Nature of reactants
  2. Concentration of reactants or pressure
  3. Temperature
  4. Presence of catalyst
  5. Sunlight

In our body, the nature of reactants is very important. A food substance in solid form undergoes slow digestive process because it has little surface area exposure for the action of digestive chemicals. Most solid food are usually chewed in the mouth before digesting them to increase their surface area.

The increasing order of food digestion is;

   lumps to granules to powder and to liquids.

Describe an experiment you could do to see if an earthworm prefers acidic or alkaline soil
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

Because earthworms do not like soil that is too acid, alkaline, dry, wet, hot or cold, their presence is a good indicator of soil conditions suitable for plant growth. Earthworms do not like acid soils with pH (CaCl2) less than 4.5. The addition of lime raises pH and also adds calcium.
