Also, during and after the French and Indian War, the Americans soldiers felt that they had less liberty than the Englishmen. As stated by a Massachusetts soldier when he wrote that “we are debarred Englishmen’s liberty.” Their resentment continued to grow, until it became unbearable and it triggered the Revolutionary War. The French and Indian War was the trigger to the start of the American Revolution, as it changed the political, economic, and social status between England and her colonists, because the English imposed unfair taxes to help pay for their own economic struggles. The colonists, to fight back, boycotted, smuggled, and protested, further damaging their relationships with Britain. Finally, the last straw was when British troops shot into American crowds during the Boston massacre.
