During the Civil War, Kentucky was a border state, but they on the south's side "team" (they had slaves and wanted to keep them). During this war, the north and south had a war, known as the Civil War. Abraham Lincoln wanted Kentucky on his side, the north side. Kentucky was a border state, therefore he wanted it to be on the north's side since it wasn't completely in the south. I believe he says he must have Kentucky because it's another state on his side to help with this war, if that makes sense.
It was a final action leading to the U.S. declaration of war.
Explanation:
- The US was neutral in the beginning of the war, as advocated by US President Woodrow Wilson but cooperated with France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
- Germany's total war at sea, where American ships were sunk, changed the attitude of the United States.

Starvation, coldness, Native Americans,
Just took a test on this. Bacons rebellion upset the rich, but he was seen a hero to the poor. Bacon rebelled against the governor of Virginia at the time, William Berkly. He rebelled against William because he would only look after the rich and himself. He taxed the poor, but not the rich. He was unfair to the poor. Bacon was rich himself, but he still helped the poor by leading the rebellion. I hope this helps:)
