While in the poem "Democracy," he D. actively advocates the idea of fighting for equal treatment. In the first poem, he just wishes that people were equal and that his race wasn't discriminated against just because of its skin color. On the other hand, in his second poem he is fed up with just wishing for freedom - now he wants it right now and realizes that the only way to actually get it is to fight for it.

Answer:

D.actively advocates the idea of fighting for equal treatment

Explanation:

In both poems, "I Dream a World" and "Democracy," American author Langston Hughes delves into the impact of the cultural, moral and legal boundaries which afflict African Americans. However, in "Democracy," he encourages people to bravely stand up for what is right: independence and freedom.

An outraged writer should write an argument based solely on his/her feelings or outrage.
frutty [35]

Answer:

Outrageous Writing

Explanation:

Every individual writer is emotional in his creative pursuit. The writer seldom separates himself/herself from the issues and emotions and hence writes back in equally the similar language or style. Writing fundamentally comes out of the feeling and emotion; if the writer is outraged he writes back an argument. such writing is straight from the heart.

Lines 101-136- How does the minister's black veil emphasize his individuality?
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Answer:

The minister's black veil in lines 101-136 reveals his individuality when his courtesy was paid with 'strange and bewildered looks.'

Explanation:

"The Minister's Black Veil" is a short story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The story is about a minister named 'Mr. Hooper.'

The story is about human nature, sin, and guilt. In the story, Nathaniel has portrayed Mr. Hooper as a sole individual, the one who is ready to accept the truth.

In lines 101-136, when Mr. Hooper comes out after the service, the congregation began to shake their 'sagacious heads', some began to profane the Sabbath day with their 'ostentatious laughter.' But when Mr. Hooper came out he greeted everyone as he used to do every Sunday after service, bless little ones, etc. The individuality of Mr. Hooper can be seen here when he was paid back with 'strange and bewildered looks' for his civility, he was neglected an invitation on dinner, when no one wanted to walk beside the Minister as an honor.

in at least 150 words, explain how richard wright use of dialogue in the short story "The Man Who Was Almost A Man" contributes
melomori [17]
Hello,
David is thinking about his quest for manhood, which he connects with owning a gun. Because he is “almost a man,” he believes that he should own the symbol of manhood: a gun. Borrowing a mail-order catalog from a local store owner so that he can look at the pictures of revolvers, David becomes obsessed with thoughts of guns, becoming a man, and, most important, the strategy that he must use to persuade his mother that he should be able to buy a gun. A real man doesn't need a gun.
