Which sentence uses formal, subjective language? I strongly disagree with the artist’s decision to use black-and-white photograp

hy to document the fire. I think some of the photographs are kind of interesting, but most of them just don’t stand out. The photographer decided to grab her vintage camera and took some black- and-white shots. The photographer chose to document the fire and its aftermath using only black-and-white film.

Answer:

"<u>I strongly disagree</u> with the artist's decision to use black-and-white photography to document the fire"

This sentence is subjective in as much as the author states his/her personal opinion about the way the photographer is working. We can see this by the use of the personal pronoun "I". Moreover, his own opinion is formally expressed by the use of these words "strongly disagree".

Besides, this expression "strongly disagree" is much more formal than "I think that". In formal writing, contractions are not usually allowed, but the possessive "s" can be an exception.

The last two sentences are more formal but they are not subjective because there is no reference to whom is giving his/her opinion. In other words, the sentence presents an objective and impersonal fact.

From the story
valkas [14]

Answer:

A. The author emphasizes that the painter lady is from out of town and acts differently than people in the community

Explanation:

Outsider can be defined as a person who doesn't belong to a certain community, group or profession.

In this story "The War Of The Wall" by Toni Cade Bambara we are introduced to a painter lady who has come from out of town to paint a neighborhood wall. She is faced with hostility from neighborhood children who have deep emotions and menories connecting them ti that wall and don't wanna see a stranger messing with it.

This, from the very beginning of the story establishes lady as an outsider.

Later on, this is emphasized with her rejection of offered food and strict choice of food she orders for dinner (probably due to her religion).

This, together with her being a stranger, labels her as an outsider in children's eyes and is responsible for their rude manners towards her.

STatiana [176]
In the last line of God's Grandeur (<em>"World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings"</em>), we see an unusual and complicated use of alliteration. Alliteration is the repetition of the same consonant, in this case w: world, with, warm, wings.
