How did modernism differ from fundamentalism
Nuetrik [128]

Fundamentalism differs from modernism in several ways.

Explanation:

The controversy between fundamentalism and modernism emerged during the 1920s. The controversy emerged in the Presbyterian church in the United States. Within the protestant faction of Christianity differences of opinion existed on several subjects like authority of scripture, death, resurrection etc.

These differences of opinion caused the development of two factions within protestant Christianity. Fundamentalists believed in an almost literal interpretation of the bible. They believed that each and every doctrine of the scripture had timeless validity.

Modernists had a different approach towards religion. They believed that religion should adapt to the advancements in science and keep up with the changes that come over with time.

2. Describe a major reason why democracy faltered in Nigeria but succeeded in Botswana.
juin [17]
Nigeria had much division between tribal/ethnic groups vying with one another for power, and thus were not working together for a united purpose. Nigeria's wealth of natural resources also gave them much to be fighting over as the groups each sought advantage.

Botswana, on the other hand, was one of the poorest countries in the world when it gained its independence from Britain in 1966, and it avoided infighting and political corruption like that seen in Nigeria. They have been a multi-party democracy since that time -- the longest-running multi-party democracy on the African continent. Botswana enjoyed significant economic growth also as it worked together politically.

1). Which caste or group made up the largest proportion of the population
Alexandra [31]

1). The caste or group that made up the largest proportion of the population was considered to be "the general category".

2). The castes or groups that made up the smallest proportion were considered to be from disadvantaged backgrounds and underrepresented in India. In modern times, they would refer to the Dalits, an official term used for those experiencing discrimination or untouchability. While percentage-wise they may have been a minority, they have still faced persecution and marginalization throughout history. It is believed that this contributed to their lack of representation during the pre-independence period as well as their continued disadvantages today.

3). Casteism has a long history in South Asia where there is evidence indicating its existence since BCE periods (Before Common Era). It has been present in Indian society for thousands of years and has greatly influenced the politics, economics and social structures throughout their history. However, for many years this was not an issue that concerned the public or the government as it was normalized. Thus, during pre-independence times casteism continued to be practiced with little change in modern India.
