For the 10 years preceding the war, they continuously pushed for a seat in parliament as was the right of all Englishmen. They were always denied. The properly argued, even if unsuccessfully, that it was their right as Englishmen dating back to the Magna Carta to be afforded that right.

Commodities and gas would likely have higher prices where people would be forced to buy even if they don't have enough money because they don't have a choice. North Carolina would be more stable enough to recover since they have stricter policies to help their constituents during the calamity and be able to meet their needs by having affordable access to goods.
