Answer:

As a result of the First Gulf War, Kuwait became an independent nation again.

Explanation:

The Gulf War was a conflict between Iraq and UN-coalition forces led by the United States between August 2, 1990 and February 28, 1991. On the morning of 2 August 1990, Iraqi national forces invaded Kuwait and annexed the country. The UN launched Operation Desert Shield to prevent Iraqi troops from invading Kuwait's oil-rich neighbor, Saudi Arabia. The United States and its allies liberated Kuwait in 1991 during Operation Desert Storm.

Coalition forces conducted more than 100,000 missions using more than 88 tons of ammunition. Several military and civilian targets were destroyed during the bombings. The Iraqi government had a plan to attack Israel with missiles if they were attacked, which it did. The Iraqi attacks on Israel killed two people and injured 230 more.

On January 29, Iraqi forces attacked and occupied the Saudi Arabian city of Khafji. The Battle of Khafj lasted for two days until Saudi Arabia's and coalition forces drove Iraqi troops out of the city. Both sides suffered heavy losses in terms of both staff and equipment.

The correct answer is B. Soviets.

The first soviets were councils of workers (soviet is the Russian word for council) and were organized in 1905 after the revolution of that year. After the Russian Revolution of 1917, the Communist party led by Vladimir Lenin established the first Communist form of government known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It was based on a network of labor councils, formed by workers, peasants, and soldiers that worked in every city. These federal assembles were the fundamentals of the Soviet power. Above all of these soviets, there was the Supreme Soviet which was the central government and highest authority. Every Soviet Republic had at the same time a Supreme Soviet, that was under the rule of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union.
