A simile compares things using "like" or "as". A metaphor doesn't use those words. Instead, it mostly uses is. For example,
Simile: This light is as bright as the sun. Or,
The football player falls to the ground like a leaf.
Metaphor: Your house is a castle. Or,
The cat is a monster.
chocolate is sweeter today ....... i believe it is that one !!
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation . . . can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war.
