This was also considered to be the major event in the history of civil rights. In the beginning of the war, segregation prevailed, African Americans were working as truck drivers and maintaining war vehicles but later many African Americans showed their heroic nature were absorbed to fighting soldiers and Many served to be the fighter pilots, tank operators during the world war II.

Tuskegee Airmen were the first troop of African Americans in the US military who flew fighter planes over Italy during the war. Sixty of them sacrificed their lives during the combat.
