Answer:

1.The Underground Railroad Era 1820-1860.

Explanation:

2.For many enslaved people the Ohio River was more than a body of water. Crossing it was a huge step on the path to freedom. Serving as natural border between free and slave states, individuals opposed to slavery set up a network of safe houses to assist escaped slaves seeking freedom.

3.The abolitionist movement spanned decades. Although slavery did not end peacefully, great Americans like William Lloyd Garrison, Frederick Douglass, and Harriet Beecher Stowe were some of the driving forces behind the anti-slavery movement.

5.The borderland ... included the southern halves of Ohio, Indiana and Illinois, all of trans-Alleghany Virginia, and all but insignificant parts of Kentucky and Missouri.

6.Citizens of what soon became Canada were long involved in aiding fugitive slaves escape slave-holding southern states via the Underground Railroad. In the mid-1800s, a hidden network of men and women, white and black, worked with escaped slaves to help them to freedom in the northern U.S. and Canada.

7.The difficult conditions also made the swamp an ideal hiding place, not just for the formerly enslaved but also for free blacks, slaves who worked on the swamp's canals, Native Americans, and outcast whites such as criminals

How were African Americans discriminated in the North?
oksano4ka [1.4K]
Well for starters even though Africans were slaves back than, mostly in the south, they were later on freed in many lands since Lincoln became president, but even though Africans were freed, a declaration or so called law was made of where they all had to go back to their masters to help with the cotton, and so some hid in places, and the ones hidden were found later on, but Africans were discriminated because they were black and not white, so this made people feel superior to blacks (racism), and blacks were discriminated also because since they use to be slaves, people still treated them like ones since they couldn't get as much money as them or they didn't look like them, so black people again were discriminated because of their skin and nationality.

How did roosevelt influence in the spanish american war put him in the focus of american society
belka [17]

Teddy Roosevelt's role in the Spanish-American War propelled him to national fame. One of the reasons why is because of the Rough Riders. This military group was created by Teddy Roosevelt in order to fight in the Spanish-American War. This group consisted of people from all different areas of expertise including some Ivy League graduates, law enforcement officials, and even cowboys from the west. This group was critical in the captuing of San Juan Hill and the fighting that took place at Kettle Hill.

Roosevelt received national fame for this, as he was the creator of the Rough Riders.
