Answer:

The tone of the poem is pride and defiance. It speaks of a racial divide in America that white people are perfectly content to ignore. Sending the speaker to the kitchen to eat can be symbolic of segregation, but also of America's desire to ignore the race problem

Which sentence contains nonessential information?
sesenic [268]

D. Pea soup, which is my friend’s favorite, is very easy to make.

The nonessential information is that pea soup is her friend's favorite. The fact that it is her friend's favorite does not relate to how easy it is to make. In the other options, the information is essential. For A, it tells when it is important to know the directions. In Option B it explains why the dog must eat at the same time. In Option C, it tells why Kim is upset.

serg [7]

One difference between the History account and the story that Longfellow tells, is that in the poem, Paul Revere rode by himself while in reality he rode with two friends: William Dawes and Samuel Prescott. A second difference between both stories is the date at which the events take place, in the Longfellow's story the events occurred in april 18th, while they actually happened in april 16th.
