Ella earns $7.50 per hour baby-sitting, plus a $20 travel fee. Desiree earns $9.50 per hour walking dogs, plus a $12 supply fee.
Lilit [14]
I’m pretty sure the equation is 7.50x+20=9.50x+12 then you subtract the x over and now it’ll be -2x+20=12 and then you do 12 - 20 and that is -8 and then -8 divided by -2 and that is 4. so maybe x equals 4? then plug it in and now you have to check your answer so you plug in the 4 and it is 7.50(4)+20=9.50(4)+12 and then that is 50=50. I MAY BE TOTALLY WRONG. but i tried to help at least

In the diagram all measurements are in centimetres.
Luda [366]

Perimeter of the quadrilateral = 48 cm

Solution:

The dimensions of the quadrilateral are 2x, 2x – 1, x – 3 and 3x.

The dimensions of the triangle are x + 3, 5 and x + 3.

Perimeter of the polygon = Sum of the sides of the polygon

The perimeter of the quadrilateral = 2 × Perimeter of the triangle

2x + 2x – 1 + x – 3 + 3x = 2 × (x + 3 + 5 + x + 3)

8x – 4 = 2 × (2x + 11)

8x – 4 = 4x + 22

Add 4 on both sides of the equation.

8x = 4x + 26

Subtract 4x on both sides of the equation.

4x = 26

Divide by 4 on both sides of the equation.

x = 6.5

Perimeter of the quadrilateral  = 2 × (x + 3 + 5 + x + 3)

Perimeter of the quadrilateral = 2 × (6.5 + 3 + 5 + 6.5 + 3)

                                                  = 2 × (9.5 + 5 + 9.5)

                                                  = 2 × 24

                                                  = 48

Perimeter of the quadrilateral = 48 cm

Simplify. (8(2x^3 y^5 )^3)/((4x^4 y^6 )^4 ) Show your work for each step.
omeli [17]
1)
     8(2^3 x^9y^15)
= ----------------------
    4^4 x^16 y^24

      x^9 y^15
= -------------------
    4 x^16 y^24

             1
= -------------------
    4 x^7 y^9

2)

2^(6x - 12) = (2^-5)^(3x+12)
2^(6x - 12) = 2^(-15x-60)
6x - 12 = -15x - 60
21x = -48
    x = -48/21
    x = -16/7
