We add the two times, 2 1/2 hours and 4 1/4 hours, together, and we get 6 3/4. ( 1/2 = 0.50, and 1/4 = 0.25, so 0.50 + 0.25 = 0.75. 0.75 = 3/4).

54 / 6 3/4 = 8.

Naomi is paid $8 every hour she works.
