The settlers brought diseases with them that killed many Native Americans because they had never been exposed to these diseases before and did not have the immunity to fight the diseases. The settlers forced many Native Americans off their land. There were many conflicts between the settlers and the Native Americans. Many Native Americans were forced onto reservations and out of Texas into Oklahoma.
