I see a shark,
But why’s it here,
In this state park?
predator,
Of the sea,
Should not be sharing land with me!
Teeth so sharp,
Skin so smooth,
Rear fins,
To help it move
Breathes through gills,
That’s not all,
Eat a lot,
Large and small,
How this fish,
Followed me here,
I don’t know,
Oh dear!!!

Really drastic,
I sure hope,
That shark is plastic…

I would say "evidence" or "examples." if you offer a reason in a persuasive essay without any sort of anecdote or illustration, you aren't really giving anything for your audience to grab onto and remember. reasons within essays can't be unfounded, either, so that's why i'd say evidence--you have to prove your ideas or beliefs in a persuasive work.
