This was my interpretation of the poem. Hope this helps someone. De nada ;)
Explanation:
Francisco de Quevedo y Villegas (1580-1645) was one of the most famous politicians and writers of Spain. The following is one of his poems.
I looked at the walls of my homeland:
I looked at the walls of my homeland,
If a strong, already crumbling,
Of the race of old tired,
By whom he lapses and his courage.
I went out to the field, I saw the sunshine drink
The ice streams untied,
And from the mountain of the cattle,
That with shadows stolen its light to the day
I went into my house, I saw that it was filthy
Of old room was spoils;
My crooked staff and less strong.
Overcoming the age I felt my sword
And I found nothing to put my eyes on
Which was not a remembrance of death.
