The privileging of masculine values (usually related to men as portrayers of these values) over other forms of social and cultural representations has been studied deeply —usually it is referred to as patriarchy, a homogenous, sexist, and ostracizing standard— and its historical consequences include, most relevantly, violence against and underrepresentation of women for millennia —only now power structures between men and women starting to shift.
