Trained athletes have lower resting heart rate due to increase efficiency of the cardiovascular system and higher stroke volume. The increase efficiency will make the muscles in the heart wall thick and the heart pumps more blood with each beat, which results to a fall to an athletes resting heart rate.

Why do fish need the suns energy
KengaRu [80]
The fish don't need the direct energy from the sun but it does help to provide heat to the water which warms up and this is a very slow process also the fish eat herbivores that eat plants and the plant need the sun energy so photosynthesis can occur and as you move up in the food web or chain the fish will eventually eat something else that ate the plant.

Which was Ventor’s contribution to science? discovered the existence of single-celled A)organisms B)invented the light microscop
MaRussiya [10]

The correct option is D.
Craig Venter contributed significantly to science and humanity by inventing a synthetic cell. He accomplished this by constructing the genome of a bacterium and by incorporating it into a cell. The cell was made by joining together the genome of a pathogen from small stretches of DNA that are synthesized in the laboratory. The genome created was then inserted into an empty cytoplasm of a related bacterium. The pathogen use is called mycoplasma mycoides, it usually infect goats. The cell is the first synthetic life form in the world and it open the way for new types of research.

Multiple Choice New species arise when a. a portion of the population becomes isolated from the remainder of the population and
Mandarinka [93]

Answer:

a. a portion of the population becomes isolated from the remainder of the population and experiences different selective pressures

Explanation:

This is an example of allopatric speciation Allopatric speciation is a form of speciation (formation of new species) that occurs as a result of geographic isolation. This means that a part of population becomes physically separated from the initial main population. There is no gene flow between these two populations and as a result the two populations reach a high level of genetic divergence. They can no longer interbreed which means they become two different species (speciation).

New populations evolve as result of mutation, genetic drift and natural selection.

For example, Galapagos finches are isolated from others by the ocean (geographic isolation). Because of the isolation, the finches don’t breed with one another. So, they developed unique characteristics and became endemic.
