During this time period the French were more concerned on fur trading than on the English who tried farming in New England area. Though of course the French had a more immediate profit with trading with the Native Americans who were fond of the new coming French colonists, but they did not like the British for good reasons. The English colonists were very discriminatory to the  natives and tried to make them their slaves but they natives had very poor immune systems and were introduced to new diseases so they eventually died out.
