Answer:

Child laborers suffer misery.

Explanation:

This poem by William Blake has the purpose of reporting the life suffered by the chimney sweepers. Besides the chimney sweepers being children (often orphans), this was a very dangerous and poorly paid job. Blake wanted to express through this poem that the children who did this service were mistreated and treated almost as slaves, lived in poverty and misery, were malnourished and sick.

Answer:

Explanation:

The answer is A) using descriptive imagery to emphasize the pain he felt.

This is because in paragraph 6 he uses descriptive imagery and says "my eyes flinging tears like a sprinkler"   ... "He backed up and slowly, like a tank, advanced" ...  "with what looked like a cracker in its beak, when the tire climbed over my ankle and sparks of pain cut through my skin."

5. Read the passage.
iris [78.8K]

Answer:

The underlined group of words that is a participial phrase is:

O living in organized cities

Explanation:

One can recognize a participial phrase in a sentence because it looks like a verb, but it actually functions as an adjective.  Its purpose is to modify a noun in the same sentence. For example, "living in organized cities" is a participial phrase that spices up or further describes "the people of this area."  Phrases like this modify a noun and provide added description about the action of the noun or its description.
