<u>Explanation:</u>
<em>Remember, </em>a metaphor is a figure of speech that makes a comparison between two things that not related as though they are in other to give a description. We can infer from those words that the author has a negative view of the impact of slavery on human society.
The metaphor<em> "blanket of ignorance"</em> depicts a situation just as when one covers a "blanket of cotton" to prevent the body from exposure; similarly the "blanket of ignorance" has covered the minds of individuals from reaching their full potential. In a sense, ignorance has now become the order of the day after "three hundred years of slavery."

PARIS-Poor soul, thy face is much abused with tears. JULIET-The tears have got small victory by that, For it was bad enough before their spite. ... And Paris flips saying that Juliets face belongs to him and that Juliet has put shame to not only her but Paris as well.
Dear friend.
I am writing this letter because I want to receive some advice from you that can greatly influence my future. I'm in doubt about which career to pursue when I grow up. I have three options and I would like you to help me decide.
The first career I want to pursue is an artist career. I've always loved art and drawing has always been one of my favorite hobbies. I am delighted to create paintings that express my thoughts and see my emotions taking shape and taking on color. It would be great to work that way.
My second option is to become a doctor. The idea of helping people in need is appealing. I'm also very interested in subjects related to biology and life in general. I believe this would be a very noble career and that I would be very happy in it.
My third option would be to work in business. I believe the chances of having a job in this area are very high and I could help my parents in the family business, which would not be a bad idea.
I know the three options are very different from each other, but I would like to know your opinion about them.
I await your reply.
Regards
M.S.
I think the most important factor to student learning is engagement
As student engagement helps students learn things easier then they engage with the material.
