Reverend Clark's reaction to Father's Hooper's keeping the veil from being removed from his face supports which theme?
Nitella [24]

This is taken from “The Minister’s Black Veil” written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The minister in this short story is Mr. Hooper, who covers half of his face with a black veil, which gets the community to gossip about him. On his deathbed Reverend Clark lets him keep the veil on his face because he thinks he hides his face because he has committed a crime.

Reverend Clark’s reaction to Father Hooper’s keeping the veil from being removed supports the theme of:

Answer: A. forgiveness

The Great Gatsby highlights __________.
MAVERICK [17]

Answer: The empty materialism that is damaging American society

Explanation:

F.Scott Fitzgerald's Great Gatsby is a novel from 1925. Set in 1922, in the fictional neighborhoods of 'West Egg' and 'East Egg' ( in real life, Great Neck and Port Washington), the novel portrays the decade known as The Roaring Twenties.

During this period of economic growth, people spent their money on expensive clothes and automobiles. This is also characteristic of the characters in the novel - they are convinced that material goods will make them happy. Materialism is the attention given to material wealth rather than spiritual or moral values. As seen in the novel, increased spending does not really make the characters happy. Although Daisy lives in a luxurious house, she feels alone and is dissatisfied with her life. Similarly, Gatsby throws fancy-dress parties, but is a sad man that tragically dies.

A family pays $19 each month for internet access. Next month the cost will increase by 5% because of an equipment fee.after this
Zinaida [17]

So, in this you are finding 105% of $19. 100% is $19 as it is the full, original amount. To find 5%, I prefer to divide the original by 10 (therefore getting $1. 90) and half that. This equals $0. 95. Finally, add this on to the 100% to get 105%. The answer would be $19. 95
