Answer:

In 1601, another act for the Relief of the Poor was passed. This became known as the Elizabethan Poor Law and remained in effect for over 200 years. It basically puts all the previous Poor Laws together into one act, setting up a legal framework to tackle the problem of the poor.

It also encouraged the establishment of almshouses. These were places that were built and supported by private donations that were meant to look after the deserving poor.

. What did Texas become when it declared its independence from Mexico?
Alex_Xolod [135]

Answer:

The Republic of Texas

Explanation:

Since its independence from Spain in 1821, Mexico encouraged Americans to settle in the territory of Texas, but by the late 1820s, the Americans surpassed the Mexican population and there was a growing concern. Mexico tried to enforce the use of Spanish and the Catholic religion.

Conflict ensued and in 1835 it turned into a full violent confrontation.

In 1836 Texas declared its independence from Mexico and soon after drafted the constitution. Texas remained an independent Republic until 1845.
