The most effective argument was that it was bad for health and that it had long term effects. This is an example of Logos.
Logos is an argument that uses reason, logic, and facts to convince.
Ethos refers to an ideology that is believed to be the correct one for a population. It was presnet in the argument that it was not ethical to consume soda implying the "correct action" was not to do it.

Pathos is a way of manipulating and using the emotions o people in an argument. Presented in the form of "you don't want to be one of them" referring to consumers of soda; appealing to the fear of social rejection.
I don't know your lesson, but I can provide an example position, I hope this will help!
Soda drinks are unhealthy- this is proven by many studies (this would be the logs part) -therefore, it is not beneficial to drink it. (the studies are also a reference to authority- ethos!) If people drink soda drinks, they will live shorter and abandon their family members (this is an appeal to pathos). Therefore, if there is a certain limitation on the soda drinks, people's health will improve. Further, the shops will be forced to provide better alternatives. Those alternatives will be healthier, so it's better for the general public health!
This is an argument, because Obama is striving to prove that America needs a new strategy for energy. In this argument he uses logos when he gives the audience specific statistics to support his point. He also uses pathos when he appeals to the emotions of the audience, the emotion of hope for a brighter and cleaner future.
