What is withheld from your paycheck is rarely the exact amount you will owe in taxes, thus the need for tax returns.

But, if you're assuming the EXACT amount the student owed was withheld.. 

Fed 10% + State 3% + FICA (which I believe is 7.65%.. but not 100% sure) then total taxes withheld would be 20.65%.

$6675 x 20.65% = $1378.39 (rnded to nearest cent) withheld.
