Why did the separatists and Puritans leave England and settle in north America?

The Puritans came to America to reform or "purify" the church of England. The Separatists wanted to completely separate from the Church. So both groups came for religious freedom.

Answer:

Both left England and settle in North America to practice their religion freely without any obstructions and persecution. The separatists and the puritans decided to separate themselves from the Church of England because they saw too many Catholic practices and beliefs in the Protestant Church. They believed in reforming the England Church but could not succeed. They left England and found colonies to practice their beliefs.
