The French and Indian War was the North American conflict that is also known as the Seven Year War. It began in 1754 and ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The Declaration of Independence was published in 1776.

And the U.S. would help Cuba to gain independence and then withdraw all its troops from the country.  This amendment was a part of President Mckinley's to resolve the issues between U.S and Spain. The United States promised to allow Cuba to be administered by its people, after assisting them to gain some stability and smooth over the dispute with Spain.
