Martin Luther King was a reverend and public speaker, as well as an influential figure in the civil rights movement, as he was able to change many things through his method of peaceful protesting, at the time when he was doing all this, not only was he an influential public speaker, he was also in the political and religious spotlight, as is seen when he writes his "Letter From Birmingham Jail" as it is addressed to his "fellow clergymen" he had to deal with people from every spectrum criticizing him and his work at all times, yet he forged on, and achieved a huge expansion of rights for black people.
