The members of Dadaist Artistic movement felt that the logic and reason behind capitalist society led to WWI. This belief they felt had led to irrationality and chaos in the society which eventually led to the war.

In this scenario there are two factors that contributed to the development of new roles for women. First, the increase of production outputs. As Manufacture increased the labor needed in factories was not 100% satisfy by men. Therefore, women were able to take on more jobs. Actually, even for some countries the employment of children was a phenomenon rather normal even thought it was illegal.

Second, the war decreased the number of man available for performing jobs. Then Women must work in order to help producing the supplies for the war.  

The role of family housewife developed by women changed with the access to the labor world. The possibility of earning their own income allow them to be more independent and to compete with man in income generation.
