Katrina wants to estimate the proportion of adults who read at least 10 books last year. to do so, she obtains a simple random

sample of 100 adults and constructs a 95% confidence interval. matthew also wants to estimate the proportion of adults who read at least 10 books last year. he obtains a simple random sample of 400 adults and constructs a 99% confidence interval. assuming both katrina and matthew obtained the same point estimate, whose estimate will have the smaller margin of error? justify your answer.

E=Z*sqrt (p(1-p)/N), where E= error margin, p=proportion, N=sample size

Katrina's margin error at 85% confidence interval: E=1.96*sqrt (p(1-p)/100) = 0.196 sqrt (1(1-p))

Mathew's margin error at 99% confidence interval: E= 2.58*sqrt (p(1-p)/400) = 0.129 sqrt (p(1-p))

Since both obtained same estimate of proportion (that is, value of p), it can be seen that Mathew's estimate will have a small error (That is, 0.129 is smaller than 0.196). This can be attributed to larger sample size although a wider confidence (99%) interval was considered.

I want to run 4 1/2 miles tonight. If I know running around my block is 3/5 of a mile, how many times should I run around the bl
sukhopar [10]
3/5 block mile is also 0.6 block mile
4 1/2 miles is also 4.5 miles

How many 0.6mi blocks do you run to run 4.5 miles?

4.5miles/0.6block mi = 7.5 or 7 1/2 blocks will equal 4.5 or 4 1/2 miles.

Check 7.5 blocks x 0.6 block mi = 4.5 miles

Same as you know one quarter equals $0.25 cent. And how many do you need to make one dollar that equals $1.00 ?

1/ .25 = 4 quarters

How many feet is in 215 yards
Lilit [14]
645 feet.

Explanation:
We know that are 3 feet in a yard, so let's set up a proportion to solve this

x215
3 feet n
-------- = -----------
1 yard 215 yards
x 215

We are solving for n. To get from 1 to 215, we multiply by 215. So to get from 3 to the answer, we must multiply by 215 as well. 3 x 215 = 645, therefore that is the answer.
