Before you start the job, gather up your tools.

You need three tools for this job. Let's make sure
you remember how to use them:

#1). 3 is the same thing as 3/1

#2). When you need to divide fractions, turn the
second one upside down, and then multiply them.

#3). When you're multiplying fractions, multiply the numerators
to get the numerator of the answer, and multiply the denominators
to get the denominator of the answer.

Those are the tools you need to solve this problem.

1).  3/4 divided by 3 is the same as 3/4 divided by 3/1 .

2).   To divide by 3/1, multiply by  1/3 .

       Now you have    3/4 times 1/3 .

3).  That's the same as  (3 x 1) / (4 x 3)  =  3/12  =  1/4

Susan and her sister ella are making baby blankets to sell at a boutique. Susan has already completed 8 blankets and can finish
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

It will take 1 day.

Each women will make 17 blankets

Step-by-step explanation:

We can model the number of blankets of Susan and Ella as linear equations:

Susan: B = 8 + 9*t

Where B is the number of blankets and t is the time in days.

For Ella, we have:

B = 10 + 7*t

To find when they will have made the same number of blankets, we just need to equate the value of B from one equation to the value of B from the other, and then we find the value of t:

8 + 9*t = 10 + 7*t

2*t = 2

t = 1 day

After 1 day they will have made the same number of blankets.

This number of blankets is:

B = 8 + 9*1 = 8 + 9 = 17 blankets
