Answer:

England

Explanation:

William invaded England, because King Edward the confessor was a friend of William. He put him as the next king to the throne. Harold Godwinson, brother in law needed the throne, so after King Edward's death, in the same day, Harold got coronated. William, was furious, of course!!. There was an other player to get the throne. It was the Norwegian king, Hardrada. William can't sail to England, from France, because the wind was going in the wrong way, which means the ship can't sail in the correct direction. Godwinson was at war with Hardrada, and won, defeating and killing the legendary king. Godwinson dismissed the army, but in France, William started his conquest, and landed England. Godwinson was alarmed, got his army, coming back and exhausted. Godwinson made a exhausting and tired march, and thus the Battle of Hastings, begun. William won, and defeated Harold Godwinson's army. Legend's say Harold killed by an arrow shot at his eye. William still ravaged and plundered England, and putting him on the Throne. His nickname came to William, the conqueror.
