Complete Question

When a plant grows as mediated by growth hormones, which main plant organs are at work?

A. meristem and roots

B. stems and leaves

C. roots and stem

D. leaves and roots

Answer:

B. stems and leaves

Explanation:

The stems and the leaves of a plant together are referred to as that SHOOT in plants.

The leaves are an appendage or attachment found on plants that contains chlorophyll which it uses for photosynthesis in plants.

The stem in a plant is a support system in the plant. It helps in the transportation of water and nutrients from the roots , through the xylem and phloem to other parts of the plants. It is also used as a storage for nutrients in plants.

Plant growth is stimulated by hormones such as Cytokinins and Auxins and the main organs at work are the stems and the leaves. This is because, these enzymes have to travel from the roots where they are produced in other to reach the stems and leaves via or through the xylem.
