a car travels along a straight line at a constant speedof 60.0 mi/h for a distance d and then another distance d in the same dir

ection at another constant speed. the average velocity of the entire trip is 30.0 mi/h (a) what is the constant speed with which the car moved during the second distance d?

It travel d distance at the speed of 60 mph, so t1 = d/60

it travel another distance with v velocity, so t2 = d/v

t = t1 + t2
  = d/60 + d/v

noww, average  velocity = total distance / total time

Avg.v  = 2d/(d/60 + d/v)
 Avg. v = 120v /  (v+60)

30     =   120 v / (v+60)

30v + 1800 = 120 v

1800 = 90 v

v = 20

hope this helps

Time for entire trip = 2d/30 hours
Time for first part of trip = d/60.
Time for second part of trip, is given by:
\frac{2d}{30}-\frac{d}{60}=\frac{d}{20}
Therefore the speed during the second distance d is 20 mi/h.

If f(x) = 2x and g(x)=1/x, what is the domain of (fg)(x)
bearhunter [10]

Answer:

The domain is all real numbers except the number zero

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

f(x)=2x

g(x)=\frac{1}{x}

we know that

(fg)(x)=f(g(x))=2(\frac{1}{x})

Remember that

The denominator cannot be equal to zero

so

The domain is all real numbers except the number zero

In Interval notation the domain is

(-∞,0) ∪ (0,∞)

Graph the image of the given triangle after the transformation with the rule (x, y)→(−x, y) . Select the "Polygon" button from t
Monica [59]

Given coordinates of the triangle:

(3,4)

(4,7)

(8,2).

We are given rule for transformation: (x,y) --> (-x,y).

According to given rule the y coordinates remain same but the coordinates of x's getting multiplied by a negative sign.

Let us write transformed coordinates of the given triangle according to given rule.

(3,4) --> (-3,4)

(4,7) --> (-4,7)

(8,2) --> (-8,2).

Now, we can plot those transformed coordinates on the graph and plot transformed triangle.
