Answer:

x<10

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we want to move all of our like terms to one side. In the inequality, the variable x on one side and our whole numbers on the other.

To do this you have to cancel out 0.5x on the right side. So you need to subtract 0.5 from both sides.

This leaves you with 15+x<25. Subtract 15 from both sides which leaves you with x<10

Hope this helps :)

"(b) use part (a) to find a power series for f(x) = 1 (4 + x)3 ."
Firdavs [7]
Assuming

f(x)=\dfrac1{(4+x)^3}

Recall that for |x|,

\displaystyle\sum_{n\ge0}x^n=\frac1{1-x}

Denote the above by s(x). Then

s'(x)=\displaystyle\sum_{n\ge1}nx^{n-1}=\frac1{(1-x)^2}
s''(x)=\displaystyle\sum_{n\ge2}n(n-1)x^{n-2}=\frac2{(1-x)^3}

Now,

\dfrac1{(4+x)^3}=\dfrac1{4^3}\dfrac1{\left(1-\left(-\frac x4\right)\right)^3}=\dfrac1{2^7}\dfrac2{\left(1-\left(-\frac x4\right)\right)^3}

which means we have

f(x)=\dfrac1{2^7}s''(x)=\dfrac1{128}\displaystyle\sum_{n\ge2}n(n-1)\left(-\frac x4\right)^{n-2}

which is valid for \left|-\dfrac x4\right|, or |x|.

I assume you want the equation to be solved, so this is a quadratic simultaneous equation.

y = x^2-x-3 ——— (1)
y = -3x+5 ——— (2)

Sub (1) into (2)
(This is the first three steps provided)

x^2-x-3 = -3x+5
0 = x^2+2x-8
0 = (x-2)(x+4) ——— (3)

Solve for x in (3):

x-2 = 0
x = 2

x+4 = 0
x = -4

Sub x into (2)

y = -3(2) + 5
y = -1

y = -3(-4) + 5
y = 17

Hence the solution sets are:

x=2, y=-1
x=-4, y=17

Caitlin has a movie rental card worth $175. After she rents the first movie, the card’s value is
nevsk [136]

The equation A(n)= $175 –(n x $2.75) would define the amount of money on the<span>
<span>rental card after (n) rentals. </span></span>

<span>According to the pattern given, $2.75 will be deducted to the rental card every after Caitlin rents a movie. We can simply divide the amount of the card which is $175 by $2.75 which we presume the rental fee. From that, we can have a result of 63.63 rentals using her card. Therefore, there will be 63.63 weeks Caitlin can afford to rent a movie.</span>
