What was the United States' main motivation for continued participation in the international arena after World War II? to rebuil
hjlf
The correct answer is escalating tensions with the Soviet Union.

After World War II, the United States and Soviet Union emerged as global superpowers. Both countries were focused on spreading their power and influence during this time. With this in mind, the US federal government made it their goal to stop the spread of communism and the influence of the Soviet Union. The US government disagreed completely with the communist system and felt that this political/economic system severely limited individual freedoms. This idea of stopping the spread of communism is known as containment. This ideology is what drives America to get involved in the Korean and Vietnam War.

Which of the following best describes the relationship between the United States and Cuba before 1959?
Volgvan

Before the 1959 United States and Cuba they have a good relationship. The rise of General Fulgencio Batista in the 1930s to the de facto leadership and presidency during two legislatures (1940-44 and 1952-59) produced a period of close cooperation between the governments of Cuba and the United States. The second term as President of Batista was initiated by a planned military coup in Florida, and US President Harry Truman soon recognized Batista's return to power with military and economic aid. When Fidel Castro came to power in 1959, relations between the two countries quickly devolved into bitter arguments, political grandstanding and the occasional international crisis.

What steps best help a reader determine the central idea of a text
Naddik [55]

In order to find the main idea of a text you must apply some effective reading strategies:

Step #1 - You must preview the text. That means that you need to look at any picture in the text. You also need to read the title and subheading. After that, you must read the first and the last sentence in each paragraph. This must be done very quickly.

Step #2 - You must skim the text. Skimming is a powerful strategy. To skim you have to read the entire text very quickly. Do not stop reading if there are unknown words.

By applying these strategies, you will determine what the main idea is.

Compare anaconda plan and souths plan
Strike441 [17]

Answer:

the north: U.S. General-in-Chief Winfield Scott's plan to defeat the Confederacy: blockade the southern and eastern coasts, seize control of the Mississippi River so as to break the Confederacy in two, and then strike from all sides at once.

the south: a strategy of winning by not losing, of wearing out a better equipped foe and compelling him to give up by prolonging the war and making it too costly.

This consisted of defending the Confederate homeland by using interior lines of communication to concentrate dispersed forces against an invading army and, if opportunity offered, to go over to the offensive, even to the extent of invading the North.
