The Lowell Mill works had went on strike three years prior due to a depression that caused a sharp decline in wages, and were successful. However, in 1937, there was a true drop in wages, and a strike did not succeed. They were then replaced by the Irish biddies.</span>
They had stronger armies in the sense that the brush had more advanced use of technology. British colonies were sending raw materials at a cheaper rates.
The colonialists were tired of being ruled by Great Britain so they formed an army to fight for their independence. The colonial army kept itself in the war during the difficult early years by trading with the enemy and refusing to pay for British military operations.
