History

The Berlin Wall divided the city in half with no regard to families being split or what would be available on each side of the wall. For decades a wall and guards prevented people from choosing which side they wished to live on and kept families separated. For Berlin, it also meant radically different economic systems. On the Western side, capitalism allowed for up-to-date material objects while the Eastern side was left behind by communistic policies.

What was the main problem preventing New Mexico from becoming a state in the 1800s?
Scilla [17]
The main reason that New Mexico faced such difficulty in becoming a state in the 1800s was because Congress was unwilling to accept New Mexico's application for statehood. People were suspicious of the area's inhabitants and their varying background.
