Magical Realism is a literary movement that was most excellently applied in Latin America but whose origins can be traced back to Europe, especially to painters and artists who represented the presence of the magical within the real world. Starting with a translation into Spanish of an essay from Franz Roh, in 1925, the term was first used by Alejo Carpentier, a Cuban, in 1949 when he wrote about "lo real maravilloso de las Americas", or the real marvels of the Americas, from which Magical Realism evolved. This evolution happened because Carpentier, and other writers, came into contact with European artistic influences and used them in literature. This is why the correct answer is D: A scholar describing paintings that contained dreamlike images.

"While the people of Guilder were forced to read propaganda, the citizens of Florin were able to read honest, fact-based news re
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

D). Antonyms.

Explanation:

The authors provide context clues which are hints or clues that assist the readers to define the meaning of an unusual or unfamiliar word.

In the given example, the antonym('a word with the opposite or contradictory meaning of the given words') of 'propaganda' would best help the audience to define it. The opposite meaning('antonym') of propaganda is 'truth, fact, or reality' which is signaled by words like 'honest, fact-based reading.' It helps the reader define that 'propaganda' is 'biased or manipulated information intended to influence people' as the Guilder people were forced to read it who used to read facts or reality(opposite of 'propaganda') earlier. Thus, option D is the correct answer.
