It is true that both the employer and the applicant are screening and researching one another during an interview. This is because an interview tends to operate like a conversation. Both participants talk and exchange ideas and opinions. While the main purpose of this is for the employer to get to know the applicant, the applicant also benefits from this by getting to know his employer and the company to which he is applying.
